What I liked

Wonderful office atmosphere, flexible hours, and great amenities. Work was never really stressful.

What I wish was different

More stable work for interns.

FP&A Intern

May - August 2019 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

The level of responsibility given to Finance at Interns is impressive. I had real, applicable and important work throughout the summer, and was able to see my projects used by colleagues throughout the business. My input was valued, and I was able to provide suggestions and recommendations for both ad hoc reporting and organizational strategy, just as if I was a full-time employee.

Advice

Don't be afraid to speak up if you don't know something. There was a lot I didn't know regarding the business and my responsibilities going in, and learned early on to ask questions; if I wasn't sure about an acronym, a data retrieval process, or a reporting technique I always asked and was never chastised for a question.

Sales Intern

May 2017 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

Worldpay is extremely flexible to your career interests. If they see that you're not enjoying a project or a line of work your managers and program leaders will find new projects that will potentially meet your interests. I also really appreciated the exposure to senior level management you receive, most executives are very generous with their time and come to speak to interns a handful of times in the summer.

What I wish was different

Advice

I'd suggest networking with those that aren't in your direct line of business. Since Worldpay is a company with a wide variety of career paths there are so many opportunities to pursue that you wouldn't have been exposed to without networking.

What I liked

I loved the team that I worked with because they provided great mentors.

What I wish was different

I wish that I could have worked on more than just backend development.

Advice

Having an internship is highly recommended since you can really see what it means to work somewhere that requires your degree. Things are very different in school compared to actual employment.
